Hugh Jackman injured in a stunt for Oprah’s TV show

Australia – Movie actor Hugh Jackman was injured while doing a stunt at the Sydney Opera House. The stunt was for an episode for Oprah Winfrey’s television show.

Jackman was shown live sliding down at the top of the Sydney Opera House using a cable and failed to have a smooth landing toward a stage that was set up outdoors causing him to crash at the riggings of the stage and hurt his face. The injury was just slight and nothing serious.

According to reports, Jackman was seen being hit in the eye that caused him to have a ‘black eye’. The Australian actor had a bandage under his eye and later told Winfrey that his excitement caused him to brake late.

“That was so much fun, until the end,” said Jackman. “I came down waving to everyone, looking over Sydney Harbor, saw my dad, the kids and you, went to pull the brake and then boing” he added, telling Oprah Winfrey. Despite of the accident, Jackman was still able to continue taping for the show.

Jackman, was well known for his role as Wolverine, a popular comic character from the X-Men series.

Winfrey, is at Australia to produce a couple of shows and is scheduled to guest other celebrities including Russell Crowe, Nicole Kidman, Keith Urban and Olivia Newton John.

‘The Oprah Winfrey Show’ is airing its farewell season. The show is aired in over 145 countries and is being watched by over 40 million Americans.
